It seems that anti-Muslim bigotry has also creeped into the Miss America pageant with the current Miss Puerto Rico being suspended after posting a series of anti-Muslim bigoted tweets. It seems that anti-Muslim bigotry has also creeped into the Miss America pageant with the current Miss Puerto Rico being suspended after posting a series of anti-Muslim bigoted tweets. Posted by Destiny Velez, it prompted a printed apology by the Miss Puerto Rico Organisation, a copy of which is listed below.

The following response was then posted by the not-for-profit, Miss Puerto Rico Organisation:

“The Miss Puerto Rico Organization is a non-profit corporation that offers scholarship assistance and career opportunities to young women in Puerto Rico. As part of our unique identity, our program recognizes the elements of providing scholarships to young women; the traits of honesty, good character, talent, poise, intellect, leadership, and good judgment among today’s young women; and enables contestants to serve as role models to other young women with similar goals and characteristics.

In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Vélez’s recent actions and conduct, the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization.

Miss Vélez’s actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.”

A personal apology was then issues by Ms Velez after she realised the impact it would have on her future:

“I apologize to the people I have offended with my words. I am first and foremost an ‘upstander’ and as such I stand up against bullying. The last thing I wanted to do was to bully anyone. Again, I apologize to anyone who felt offended with my words.”

The charade of Robinson leaving extremism behind has finally slipped as his tweets show an increasingly erratic and confused individual who plays up to conspiracy theorists and far right bigots. His attempt at going ‘mainstream’ has failed with only a handful of journalists still touting for his opinions when they have nothing else to fill their journals with.

However, Robinson’s actions have placed a Rotherham resident of Pakistani heritage at real risk. This tweet (below), which Robinson sent out a few days ago is false and makes an allegation that two individuals around the Member of Parliament for Rotherham, are paedophiles. Such actions can put the lives of these two individuals at risk and Robinson should be held to account for this.

One of the individuals has worked with Tell MAMA to place a civil claim against a branch of UKIP and this is ongoing. They initially tweeted out a virtually identical tweet and our advice to him is to pursue a civil claim against Robinson for the dissemination of this material.

Robinson claims to act for against ‘Islamic extremism.’ His tweets show a different stance and one which panders to anti-Muslim bigots. No doubt, Robinson may well be hearing from the solicitor of the individual that he has libelled.

What is also interesting to note is that he linked to a tweet from a female resident in Scotland who previously tweeted from the @dowheater account. We are currently in discussions with Police Scotland on this individual who is resident, we believe in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Coming back to ‘Stevo,’ we have undertaken our own checks and the following tweet link by the individual references another Twitter account:

It seems that ‘Stevo’ is an award-winning mortgage broker by the name of Stephen Dransfield. Looks like he has won a number of awards from ‘Money Marketing’, ‘the Negotiator Awards’, ‘ESTAS’ and the ‘British Mortgage Awards’, where he won in 2011,12, 13 and 14. Stephen Dransfield is no run of the mill English Defence League sympathiser, he is an award-winning mortgage broker, who no doubt would have had Muslim clients. We hope that future clients get to see exactly what he does in his spare time on Twitter.

It also seems that Stephen Dransfield lives in Bradford. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Stephen’s world. How long he will receive accolades, we cannot say.
