A teenager has appeared in court accused of preparing an act of terrorism over allegations he wanted to hijack a car and run over people.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly hated British people, the Old Bailey was told on Friday.
The teenager, from Nottingham, faces a single charge of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts on or before September 11 this year.
Setting out the allegations, prosecutor Julia Faure Walker said the defendant was found in the possession of multiple documents.
One of those documents allegedly “made clear how much he hates the British and refers to having joined the true crime community”.
In another, the defendant allegedly spoke about how he had thoughts about going up to an armed officer and taking one of their guns, the court was told.
The teenager, from Nottingham, then allegedly said that after “killing a few people” he would attempt to “hijack someone’s car” and “run over a few people”, the prosecutor said.
The teenager, who appeared at court via CVP link from custody on Friday, will next appear at court on January 29.
