The Forums Project

The Bridging Beliefs Forums Project:

The Bridging Beliefs Forums were a unique series of workshops across England with Holocaust survivors and survivors of the genocide of Bosnian between 1992 – 1995. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims suffered internment, murder, systemised rape and ethnic cleansing in the Bosnian genocide between those three years. There are resonances between elements of genocide and this project brought together Jewish and Muslim communities in order to look at the stages of genocide and the histories of both communities in Europe.

This project utilised sharing personal experiences in an effort to educate people on the Jewish Holocaust and Muslim genocide in Bosnia. It also attempted to create a sense of shared historical, religious and cultural experiences for Muslim and Jewish communities.
